26 Broadway

The 26 Broadway project consists of three different schools designed to occupy several leased spaces within a 32 story high rise office building located in the area near Wall Street in New York City. This new school was converted from the National Sports Museum which went out of business in 2009. The uniqueness of this space had to be considered in every aspect of the project, as the usage of all rooms would completely change with the conversion to a High School. In addition, a dedicated entrance was also to be provided for the students of this school and the spaces reconfigured to allow for a natural flow entering from the side of the larger high rise structure. DVL Consulting Engineers, Inc. was responsible for the design of all MEP/FP systems for this school, including a dedicated interior fire alarm system, dedicated Building Management System and two dedicated elevators solely for the school’s usage.
