NJ PAC

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center or NJPAC, located in Newark, NJ was a $50,000,000 project intended to increase the presence of culture and arts within New Jersey and revitalize the city of Newark. Totaling 230,000 square feet, the Arts Center incorporates the 2,750 seat multi-purpose hall, the 500 seat theatre, an outdoor performance plaza; a gift shop, two (2) restaurants, and a banquet facility. As part of the design contribution, DVL assumed the responsibility for a variety of engineering tasks, including all structures’ fire protection systems, electrical power supply for the entire site, engineering studies, design reviews, and consultation services. Engineering design, included ADA, and Life Safety Compliance studies, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, and subsequent design of sprinklers and fire protection. The electrical design portion included power and wiring of site lighting, and accommodation of specialized power needs for a custom made electronic message sign of “upcoming events”, as well as outdoor vendor and entertainment setups. DVL prepared the electrical base design for data and CCTV equipment used in all outdoor parking areas.
