Bayside State Prison
DVL Consulting Engineers, Inc. was initially requested to repair damaged lighting and electrical systems within Bayside State Prison. Upon inspection, it was noted that the current systems and lighting were far below the standard for prison facilities. The observation towers were original to the construction of the prison and the perimeter lighting was very antiquated. DVL completed a study of existing systems including photometric grid mapping to redesign the lighting and also worked with a security consultant to ensure the most state of the art lighting was utilized. In addition to exterior perimeter lighting and lighting to athletic field space, a security system relay network was design for automatic and manual activate of escape/emergency response lighting system.
